Do you remember your grandmother making this and thought you'd never find it again? We have it and it's chocked full of vine ripened tomatoes combined with sugar and pectin. Try it over macaroni and cheese instead of stewed tomatoes.

  • Spread it on toast, bagels, muffins, and anything else you want to add a burst of sweetness to
  • Elevate your cheese, yogurt, or other dairy products by adding a spoonful of flavorful fruit jelly, jam, preserve or marmalade
  • Add to your store-bought glazes, sauces, and dressings to make them sing!
  • Gluten free
  • Made at Kitchen Kettle Village in Lancaster County, from our own special recipe

Ingredients: Tomato Strips (Vine-Ripened Fresh Tomatoes, Salt, Calcium Chloride and naturally derived Citric Acid.), Sugar, Corn Syrup, Water, Citric Acid, Pectin.

Manufactured in a facility that handles peanuts, eggs, and soy.

DESCRIPTION

Try this fun appetizer at your next holiday gathering!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Skinny Baguette, sliced into 1/4" to 1/2" slices
  • Butter for the grilled cheese
  • 4 oz. Jarlsberg cheese, sliced into pieces to fit baguette slices
  • 1-10 oz. jar Kitchen Kettle Tomato Jam
  • 1/8-1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Butter one side of each Baguette slice. Add a slice of the Jarlsberg cheese to the unbuttered side of half of your baguette slices. Stir the red pepper flakes into the tomato jam if using. Put a dollop of the KKV tomato jam on top of the cheese. Place a second baguette slice on top, buttered side out. Grill until gold brown on each side. Yield depends on size of baguette.

At Kitchen Kettle we refer to our jars using three standard sizes:

  • Half Pints - 8 ounces in volume
  • Pints - 16 ounces in volume
  • Quarts - 32 ounces in volume

We are required to label our jars with the actual net weight of the contents, rather than the volume. You'll notice our Half Pint jars will vary between 8 ounces and 10 ounces in net weight; our Pint jars range from 16 ounces to 20 ounces in net weight; and our Quart jars weigh between 32 and 36 ounces.

Why do the net weighs vary? Although we use the same size jar, a jam made with chunks of fruit will weigh more than a jelly that's made with just the juice of a fruit.

If you have any questions about our jars sizes, we're happy to help! Give us a call at 800-717-6198 or email us at sales@kitchenkettle.com

Tomato Jam Makes Meatloaf Gourmet

When I lived in PA, I often visited Kitchen Kettle Village and walked out with boxes filled with a variety of jars. The most important was the tomato jam. When I make meatloaf, instead of plain diced tomatoes, I use one jar of
tomato jam(for 2 lbs. of meat). The result is a meatloaf so full of flavor, it causes fights in the kitchen on who is getting an extra, or larger, slice. At first taste, the tomato flavor hits, then the sweetness mixed with the
other ingredients, and no one can stop eating it!
